Chapter II: Academic Programs

Mount Sinai School of Medicine is deeply committed to providing a rich and invigorating educational environment. Programs are designed to help each student reach his or her maximum potential and develop a lifelong interest in learning. In addition to offering doctoral and masters programs, Mount Sinai has a large Graduate Medical Education program, a broad variety of postdoctoral research training opportunities, and many events and activities that promote postgraduate learning.

    Mount Sinai School of Medicine offers programs leading to the Doctor of Medicine degree, PhD degrees and Masters degrees. It also offers opportunities to earn dual degrees.

    Virtually every academic department hosts weekly, monthly or special lectures and other educational events, many of which are offered to the Mount Sinai community at large. In addition, there are many institutional events with broad-based appeal.
  4. High School Programs

    Consistent with its commitment to attract minority students toward the study of medicine and allied health fields, Mount Sinai School of Medicine is involved in several high school programs geared to developing the skills of students under-represented in the biomedical sciences. These programs are run in affiliation with the New York City Board of Education, the New York State Department of Education and the Health Resources Services Administration.
