Center-Wide Ethics Luncheons
Each month, since April 1990, the Department of Medical Education hosts a lunchtime discussion of ethical issues raised by a case at the Medical Center. The presentation comes from a different department every month. The person who leads the discussion arranges for the other health care providers who have been involved with the case to present the aspects of the case. By bringing a case from their practice to the Ethics Luncheon forum the presenting group learns to identify the ethical features of their work. The luncheon then provides an opportunity for the presenters and the audience to join in trying to understand and resolve the problem.
Faculty Seminar in Philosophy and Medicine
Since 1981, faculty from Mount Sinai and The Graduate School, CUNY, have meet monthly to discuss papers from the current literature of bioethics.
