Campus and Neighborhood

Located in one of the most dynamic and diverse cities in the world, Mount Sinai School of Medicine shares a four-block campus with The Mount Sinai Hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Adjacent to Central Park, the campus extends from 98th Street to 102nd Street and eastward from Fifth Avenue to Park Avenue. This area is known as Carnegie Hill, a quiet residential neighborhood with tree-lined streets and classic brownstone buildings. A designated historical district, Carnegie Hill offers shopping, restaurants and public transportation. Bordered by East Harlem, a predominantly low income community, and Yorkville, one of the nation's most affluent communities, this neighborhood provides a broad mix of cultural, socioeconomic and ethnic diversity that makes the educational and health service opportunities at Mount Sinai unique.
