Training

The Use of Animals in Research training program consists of a lecture and hands-on wetlab session. The lecture focuses on global aspects of research, institutional policies, and rodent disease. The wetlab provides hands-on training to personnel who wish to have assistance in performing basic techniques on rodents such as handling and restraint, sexing, injections, blood collection, and gavage. Both classes are required; however, significant experience working with species (more than six months experience) may entitle exemption from the wetlab. Please contact the Training Coordinator for scheduling information. Forms are available in the Annenberg and Icahn Medical Institutemain offices.

Group training sessions are available on request. Please contact the Training Coordinator to arrange a session.
