Maternity care at
Mount Sinai is provided by physicians, midwives, nurses, and other professionalsall
leaders in their field. Making the childbirth experience as joyful and
safe as possible is the ever present focus.
Beginning with your childbirth preparationsClasses
in Lamaze techniques, breastfeeding, sibling preparation, and infant
care, are available, as are facility tours. (Please call 212-241-5118
for more information about classes and tours.)
Through your labor and deliveryWhile
the attentive and compassionate nurses primarily responsible for your
care address most of your needs, you will also benefit from guidance
regarding anesthesia, watchfulness from an in-hospital pediatrician,
counseling if needed from a social worker, and timely information provided
by the hospitals own Newborn Channelas well as all the state-of-the-art
technology and expertise that is available for newborns who need extra
care.
To your return homeYour primary
nurse will continue to be available to answer any questions concerning
your health or your infants care.
Families who give birth at Mount Sinai can expect:

New, comfortable furnishings, including luxury sleeper chairs, allows
partners to spend the night with their families.
Spa-inspired and decidedly female private baths with showers feature
Italian glass tile, elegant sconces, and decorative mirrors. there are
internet ports in each room.
In keeping with the Centers goal of creating an optimal maternity
environment, the Center was designed using environmentally friendly
materials.
