Faculty Advisory Council

The Faculty Advisory Council (FAC) provides a critical role in assisting the Center for Multicultural and Community Affairs (CMCA) in recruiting faculty members from groups underrepresented in medicine, providing academic mentorship, and in developing research and leadership skills for faculty.

The major roles of the FAC are:

1. To serve as a Review Board for nominations of junior faculty to the Faculty Development Program
2. To help identify research opportunities for faculty
3. To identify academic and research mentors and make recommendations for matching with faculty trainees (mentees)
4. To serve as advocates for junior faculty
5. To serve as an internal expert scientific advisory group to CMCA
