Medical Students and the Community

Mount Sinai medical students have traditionally been involved in volunteer activities in East Harlem and surrounding communities. A Community Service Committee, led and operated by medical students, brokers a variety of student activities in the community and hosts events throughout the year. CMCA provides advisory and support roles to the Community Service Committee and medical student groups and helps to coordinate clinical, educational, community learning, and service activities and opportunities with surrounding community health organizations, partners, and affiliates. These efforts support medical student education in community health services and research.
