Advanced Settings

The spine classification routine is controlled by critical values of head-to-neck diameter ratio, height-to-width ratio, and head diameter. These critical values can be changed by selecting Run >> Advanced Settings... from the main menu. Changing these values and hitting the Apply button without clossing the dialog can be used to interactively re-classify detected spines in the current dataset.

TIP: To save default values for these settings, save all settings as defaults using the basic settings dialog.

Advanced Settings

Hit OK to accept the current values, Cancel to abort. The Apply button can be used to interactively re-classify the current spines. The Reset Defaults button will revert the settings back to stored values within NeuronStudio. At the time of this writing these hard-coded values are 1.1 for Neck Ratio, 2.5 for Thin Ratio and 0.35μm for Mushroom Size.
