The Mount Sinai Superfund Basic Research Program World Trade Center Supplement

The Superfund World Trade Center supplementary program includes two epidemiologic investigations — a study of ironworkers and a study of pregnant women and their infants — an environmental assessment project and an outreach project.

The program is built on a partnership between Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. Mount Sinai is responsible for overall project direction, direction of the epidemiology projects and direction of the outreach program. Columbia University is responsible for the exposure assessment project, as well as for laboratory analyses of PAH adducts in support of the epidemiologic investigations.
