Outreach to Children and Families

Goals

The goals of the project include:

1. Serving as an unbiased, independent source of analysis and evidence-based interpretation of available environmental testing results;
2. Disseminating this information widely;
3. Serving as an independent resource to the community

The project focuses its efforts primarily on parents, pediatricians, government officials, and caretakers (i.e., nursery school, day care, and school personnel). Other interested groups and organizations will also be targeted such as area community-based organizations, social services providers, and tenant, resident, and parent groups. Project activities will concentrate on the neighborhoods south of Canal Street, in particular Battery Park City, and Tribeca, which contain sizable concentrations of residential buildings.
