Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory

Back to Clinical Services

The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory includes four fully equipped rooms for cineangiography and hemodynamic studies, and a separate facility for myocardial biopsies. Presently, the laboratory performs approximately 14,000 procedures per year, including 4,500 - 5,000 interventional procedures, which involve angioplasty, rotational atherectomy, intracoronary stenting, drug-eluting stent, thrombectomy, valvuloplasty and peripheral vascular interventions. In addition, our laboratory is involved in numerous FDA-approved protocols and studies involving newer stents, medications to decrease reblockage, Antithrombotic drugs, and gene therapy to grow new vessels in the heart. The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is known for performing high-risk complex coronary and vascular cases with extremely low complication rates. The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is on call 24 hours/ 7 days a week for treatment of acute cardiac cases.
