Donations/Donors
Bob and Sandy Friedman
Bob and Sandy Friedman, Woodbury, N.Y., have supported Dr. Valentin Fuster and Mount Sinai's Cardiovascular Institute for almost a decade. Currently, they provide salary support for a new member of the faculty. Mr. Friedman decided recently to ensure that his legacy continues by providing for CVI in his will.
He explains, "Dr. Fuster and his colleagues are engaged in research to improve the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. Their work has the potential to prevent disease and, most importantly, to save lives. The Mount Sinai Medical Center is a phenomenal resource and we are honored to support the ongoing efforts of its superb physicians and scientists. We encourage others to help ensure that these vital research initiatives go on for a long time to come."
Ruth Weil
Ruth Weil is no stranger to Mount Sinai. Her late husband, Dr. Rudolf Weil,
was a Mount Sinai physician for fifty years! Mrs. Weil has included a generous
bequest in her will for the benefit of Mount Sinai's Cardiovascular Institute.
In addition, she decided to establish a charitable gift annuity at Mount Sinai
to take advantage of our high payout rates to beneficiaries. "I decided
to create a charitable gift annuity because it allowed me to make a meaningful
gift to Mount Sinai and enjoy a host of tax benefits," explains Mrs. Weil.
Charitable gift annuities provide an income tax charitable deduction in the
year the gift is made and a guaranteed stream of income for life that is partially
tax-free for a period of time."
