Echocardiography Laboratory

Back to Clinical Services

The Echocardiography Laboratory performs approximately 36 echocardiograms per day, 8 of which are interventional: transesophageal or stress studies (pharmacological and treadmill). Studies are done by experienced registered technologists with the latest and most sophisticated equipment and read by Cardiologists specifically trained in Echocardiography.

Stress and transesophageal echocardiograms, usually performed within 24 hours of being requested, are performed by attending echocardiologists. Reports of stress and transesophageal studies are faxed to the referring physician's office immediately upon completion. Routine transthoracic echo reports are usually on the patient's hospital chart or faxed to the outpatient's physician's office the same day.
