Mission Statement
The
goal of the Cardiovascular Institute at The Mount Sinai Medical Center is to become
the pre-eminent resource for the study and treatment of heart disease. The
Institute integrates Mount Sinai's vast strength and resources in adult and
pediatric cardiology and related disciplines toward the following ends:
- Superb
clinical patient care
- Clinical research, which promises to yield new insight into cardiovascular
disease and knowledge, and will lead to more effective therapies, as well
as overall progress in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of this
disease, with a special emphasis on rehabilitation
- Education and training of medical students, residents, fellows and faculty
that focuses on all aspects of caring for patients with cardiovascular disease,
beyond their individual specialties.
