NIH Training Grant in Molecular
and Cellular Cardiology
Selection and Application
he admission committee reviews
applications on the basis of academic record, research training, and letters
of recommendation. In addition to application to the Cardiology Fellowship Program,
acceptance to the NIH Training Grant in Molecular and Cellular Cardiology requires:
1) identification of a potential preceptor who agrees to sponsor the applicant,
2) preparation of a brief research and training proposal, and 3) U.S. citizenship
or permanent residency. Factors considered for acceptance into the Training Grant
include the candidate's academic credentials and commitment to a long-term career
in basic cardiovascular research. Qualified minority applicants are encouraged
to apply.
