Samin K. Sharma, M.D., has been invited to serve on the New York State Cardiac
Advisory Board. The role of the Board is to advise the Commissioner of Health
on a wide range of topics pertaining to the prevention and treatment of
cardiovascular disease. Dr. Sharma will serve on two Board committees: the
Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Reporting System and Access Subcommittees.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Samin K. Sharma as the Co-Director of the Cardiovascular Institute for Laboratory Services. In this capacity, Dr. Sharma will be involved in the day-to-day operation of various laboratories of the Institute; Cath, EP, Nuclear, Echo and Imaging Services.
Dr. Sharma's skills as a clinician, educator and manager are widely recognized in the Cath Lab. We are excited to extend Dr. Sharma's organizational skills and enthusiasm to the high profile challenging and very demanding part of our Cardiovascular Institute.
We take this opportunity to wish him success in this new and exciting responsibility in our CVI.

Dr. Michael C. Kim has been appointed Director of the Coronary Care Unit. Dr. Kim's expertise in managing patients as an interventional cardiologist will enhance interaction between the CCU and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
 Dr. David A. Vorchheimer has been appointed Director of Medical Education for the Cardiovascular Institute, integrating teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.

 Dr. Samin K. Sharma has been appointed Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Institute for Clinical Affairs. In this capacity, Dr. Sharma will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the Institute as well as strategic initiatives that affect patient care. Dr. Sharma will continue as Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories.
