General Dentistry Training Program

Overview

The Department of Dentistry is one of the largest in the United States. There are fifteen general practice operatories, two oral and maxillofacial surgery operatories, and a completely equipped operating room suite and recovery room. In addition, there are two X-ray rooms with panoramic and cephalometric as well as standard radiographic equipment. There is also a dental laboratory. The Department has the latest equipment for instrumentation in implantology, laser surgery, and endodontic and periodontic evaluation. The resident has access to the extensive Gustave L. and Janet W. Levy Library of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. In addition, the resident can take advantage of the wealth of lectures, clinics, and diagnostic and research laboratories and equipment located throughout the medical center. There are ample opportunities for clinical as well as basic science research.
