Run For SAVI
This year, Mount Sinai's Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Program (SAVI) is literally hitting the pavement to raise funds and awareness for the work we do with survivors of violence in our city.
Team Mount Sinai SAVI is joining thousands of other individuals and teams in the "Hope & Possibility 5 Mile Run" on Sunday, June 24, 2012, in Central Park. The "Hope & Possibility Run", organized by Achilles International and founded by Trisha Meili (The Central Park Jogger), is the one event in our city that was created to include able-bodied athletes, those with disabilities – some visible, some not – and people from the community who want to run or walk in solidarity with those athletes and the groups they represent.
Team Mount Sinai SAVI is made up of SAVI Advocates, SAFE's, staff, trainees, family, friends and you. There are many ways to be a member of the Team: run, walk, sponsor, cheer from the sidelines, and/or donate on behalf of those who will embark on the 5 miles in acknowledgement of SAVI, the survivors we serve, and the extraordinary resilience of those who have endured a trauma unlike any other but reclaimed their bodies, souls, and the joy of moving freely in the world.
Join Team Mount Sinai SAVI in a celebration of recovery and resilience.
