Supplemental Information on Schedules and Benefits
Current stipends, fringe benefits, and housestaff housing opportunities are listed below. On-call schedules and working hours are constructed to comply with all New York State regulations. On-call rooms in the hospital are provided for residents on duty at night. Uniforms and laundry services are provided by the hospital without charge.

Benefits
- Health Insurance
The hospital furnishes without charge to the housestaff and their dependents extended coverage, including benefits for home visits. In addition, there is a major medical insurance policy provided to the staff without charge. There also are optical and dental group insurance plans. Free nursery care for newborns is provided for all staff. - Disability Insurance
Each house officer receives long-term disability insurance, up to $1,000 per month. - Life Insurance
There is free group life insurance for each house officer, to $100,000. Amounts of insurance can be increased above that level by house officer contribution. - Housing
The hospital owns several conveniently located buildings with partially subsidized apartments for the use of house officers and their families. A hospital housing bureau is available to aid house officers in finding a suitable residence. All first year residents are guaranteed to receive an offer for housing. - Sample Contract [PDF]
