Division Overview

Mount Sinai's groundbreaking history in identifying, treating, and preventing occupational-related illness and disease has expanded to encompass a multi-disciplinary approach to aiding workers through specialized clinical centers, programs, and services. Responding to emerging issues in the field, as they did in the wake of the terrorist attacks of September 11th in New York City, the staff of this clinical division continues to provide innovative leadership in benefiting public health policy across the U.S. and beyond.

The division offers a range of specialty programs focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of occupational disease. Its leaders and staff are often asked to share their expertise, findings, and lessons learned to help better inform future public health response strategies. Having become integral to the public health infrastructure in New York City, State, and within the occupational medicine field nationwide, the division's achievements are evident in ongoing initiatives that continue to assist tens of thousands of workers across the United States.
