PROGRAM GOALS
The exciting world of a hospitalist consists of high volume, high acuity, great challenges, and limitless potential to help patients. The role could not be more rewarding or more demanding. This course will provide the expertise and skills to allow hospitalists to deliver the best possible care for their patients.
Hospitalists must keep up-to-date to ensure they are using the best diagnostic strategies and prescribing the best treatments for their patients. Our faculty consists of internationally renown experts who will present plenary lectures and workshops in the most common diseases seen by hospitalists. Lectures are designed to be case-based, concise, and to incorporate the most recent evidence into clinical recommendations. In addition, our annual “Update in Hospital Medicine” will identify and review the most important trials impacting our field over the past year.
Hospitalists are also uniquely positioned to lead hospital improvement efforts, enhance patient safety, and reduce medical errors. By increasing expertise in addressing medical errors and skills in quality improvement, this symposium will give hospitalists the skills and confidence to meaningfully participate in and lead initiatives at their hospitals.
Our highly rated series of WORKSHOPS is designed to provide participants with a choice of three “tracks” in which to gain expertise: (1) Clinical care (2) Hospital quality and patient safety (3) Palliative care
Participants can concentrate in one of these tracks to develop their expertise or can mix-and-match tracks to experience a greater variety of topics.
