Description
Target Audience and Educational Goals
The 49th Annual New York Anesthesiology Review is designed to improve knowledge and competence of anesthesiologists and anesthesia care providers preparing for the board examination and to fulfill Maintenance of Certification requirements. In addition, the New York Anesthesiology Review provides an integrated, comprehensive review of current, state-of-the-art anesthetic practice for the experienced practitioner in order to improve knowledge, competence, and performance that will ultimately improve patient outcome. The program encompasses perioperative evaluation, intraoperative management, post-anesthesia care, critical care and pain management. Using a multi-modality format, each participant will gain a thorough understanding of modern anesthesia practice.
Course Objectives
At the conclusion of the course, the participant will be able to:
- Evaluate and manage the patient with co-existing disease(s) perioperatively
- Manage pediatric and adult patients perioperatively for routine and complex surgical procedures
- Utilize and diagnose problems with equipment used in anesthesia practice
- Apply concepts in physiology and pharmacology to the management of acute and chronic pain patients
- Manage complications occurring in the post-anesthesia care unit and critical care settings
- Manage critical events that may occur in the operating room setting

† Residents/Fellows must provide documentation of enrollment in a residency/fellowship training program along with the registration form.
Tuition includes a comprehensive course syllabus, continental breakfast, buffet lunch, and refreshment breaks for registrants only. Those registering after February 15, 2012 cannot be guaranteed a syllabus at the start of the course, but will receive one as soon as possible thereafter.
Refund policy: $125 will be retained to cover administrative expenses if a refund is requested. In order to remit the balance, we must receive written notice of withdrawal by February 15, 2012.
Early registration will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 16, 2012.

The Hotel Royal Plaza is one of the official hotels of Walt Disney World and is located in the beautiful Downtown Disney Resort area. Airport shuttle is available from Mears Transportation at a nominal charge. Guests are within walking distance to Downtown Disney Marketplace. There is complimentary scheduled bus transportation to all the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Registrants at the meeting are entitled to complimentary parking (whether or not a guest at the hotel), complimentary wireless in-room internet, and the resort fee will be waived.
