Research Day
Mount Sinai School of Medicine's Research Day is held each year to showcase and disseminate new knowledge contributed by students through their investigative activities. The Medical Student Research Day takes place in November. All Mount Sinai medical students and MSTP students who are pursuing research studies are invited to submit an abstract and present a poster on their work. Students who receive MSSM funding for a summer research project and Doris Duke fellows have committed to submitting an abstract for Research Day. Research presented must have been conducted during medical school, but may have been done at an institution other than Mount Sinai School of Medicine
The Research Day Advisory Committee reviews all submitted abstracts for Research Day. Four abstracts are selected for oral presentations. To be eligible for oral presentation, the student must be the first author of the abstract. Presentations should be 10 minutes, followed by five minutes for questions. The students giving oral presentations receive a $250.00 prize. Students not giving oral talks present their work as poster presentations.
