Appointment and Term
Postdoctoral candidates are appointed for successive one-year terms not to exceed six years. Appointment as a Postdoctoral Fellow will be made for an initial time period, delineated by the PI. A letter of appointment signed by the mentor should state the basic terms of appointment, including stipend.
Trainees may serve as Postdoctoral Fellows at Mount Sinai School of Medicine for a maximum of six years. Since Postdoctoral Fellows are trainees working with specific mentors, these mentors have the responsibility of evaluating progress and will make decisions with respect to the duration of the total training period.
All policies are subject to change by Mount Sinai School of Medicine from time to time.
