Situation
It's 3 am and Lydia Roacherie a 33 year old female
patient tells the triage nurse that she woke from her sleep with severe
pain in her left ear. She is afebrile and appears to be in mild
distress. She is crying.
1.
What are you thinking is her leading diagnosis?
2.
What materials are needed for the removal of a
live insect from the ear canal.
Your assumption was wrong! You look
into the ear of the patient and a perforation of the TM is seen.
The patient is then further questioned.
