Not for Lyme disease. However, Colorado tick fever, tick paralysis, Ehrlichiosis, Tularemia, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever have all been associated with member of the Dermacentor genus of tick. Dogs can become infected with Lyme disease but only the tick can transmit the spirochete to man.
