Chapter I: General Information
ACCREDITATION
Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University is
accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of
the Association of American Medical Colleges and the American
Medical Association. Through its New York University affiliation,
Mount Sinai School of Medicine is regionally accredited by
the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. Its
teaching hospitals are accredited by the Joint Commission
on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.
All educational programs of the School of Medicine and
its affiliated institutions have been approved by the governmental,
academic, and professional bodies having responsibility in
the respective areas. These include the Board of Regents of
the State of New York, the State Education Department, the
Board of Higher Education of the City of New York, and medical
specialty boards and professional societies.
