BeneFlex Program Summary

Life Insurance

Mount Sinai School of Medicine provides you with life insurance coverage equal to 2.5 times your salary through Aetna Life Insurance. Costs are based on volume and your age. In addition to this subsidized coverage, you may also choose to pay for additional coverage of as much as 2.5 times your salary up to a million dollar maximum. (No evidence of insurability is required if you elect an amount in excess of 2.5 times your salary within 30 days of beginning your employment.)

  • Dependent Life Insurance – In addition to the life insurance which the School provides, you may also purchase dependent life insurance coverage for your spouse and eligible dependent children through Aetna Life Insurance. Costs vary depending upon the level of coverage you select.
  • Accidental Death And Dismemberment Insurance is available through Aetna Life Insurance. Costs vary depending upon the level of coverage you select.
