Clinical Nutrition
o effectively serve the GCRC, the Nutrition
unit is staffed from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. The Kitchen
operates from 7:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and as needed to accommodate protocols requiring
weekend coverage.
The Nutrition Unit is available for investigators interested in conducting
well-controlled human diet studies in both pediatric and adult populations.
We provide support for:
- designing and planning the nutrition component of research protocols
- development of palatable research diets
- computer analysis of food records
- calorie counts
- administering food frequency questionnaires
- measuring body composition
- monitoring compliance
- other nutritional support as needed
