Physician Mini-Fellowships: Geriatrics for the Non-GeriatricianThe 2009 Mini-Fellowship program will be offered February 29 - March 2, 2010 in New York City. ProgramThe three-day mini-fellowship is targeted at non-geriatrician physicians responsible for teaching medical students and residents how to care for older adults. The course covers geriatric content, palliative medicine, the geriatrics approach to patient care, advanced teaching skills, and curriculum development. Sessions are taught through demonstrations, self-study, small- and large-group sessions, e-learning, role-playing, and post-course mentoring. We offer four clinical tracks and two teaching tracks. CME credits are awarded.
FacultyRosanne M. Leipzig, M.D., Ph.D. directs the Mini-Fellowship program. Dr. Leipzig is a nationally recognized Clinician-Educator as well as a leader in Evidence-Based Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology. Other faculty involved are expert Mount Sinai geriatricians, nationally known authorities in palliative care, and leaders in Mount Sinai's pre-eminent Visiting Doctors home care program.
