Queens Hospital Center is a 250-bed acute care municipal hospital located in Jamaica, New York, and serves a culturally and economically diverse population with a large spectrum of medical problems.

The new Queens Hospital Center is state of the art with Centers of Excellence in Women’s Health, Cancer Care and Diabetes Care. It is one of 11 New York City Health and Hospital Corporation’s facilities and is the major provider of care for the population of Southeast Queens/-Jamaica for over fifty years. The Internal Medicine residency training program is an independent program affiliated with Mount Sinai School of Medicine. The program has over 20 years of experience in training Internal Medicine residents through the previous fully integrated accredited affiliation.

Medical residents are trained during acute care and ambulatory rotations with experiences in subspecialties as well as primary care.

In addition, they are assigned at least one half-day ambulatory care clinic session per week and follow patients longitudinally throughout residency training. PGY 2 and 3’s are assigned one full day per week in clinic. Faculty preceptors supervise and teach in the ambulatory setting according to a written curriculum prepared by the Department.
