Overview

The Mount Sinai School of Medicine Consortium for Graduate Medical Education was established in 1995 with the assistance of a two-year grant from the New York State Education Department. The Consortium was granted a seven-year accreditation period by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in 1996, and its accreditation was renewed in 2002 and 2006.

Consisting of 11 hospitals in Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and New Jersey, the Consortium currently trains over 2,600 residents. Of the 11 participating hospitals, eight have residency programs sponsored by Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
