Program Overview

Mount Sinai’s Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) has been enormously successful in helping its PREP scholars enhance their interest in and readi-ness for doctoral programs and, in some cases, identify other career paths in biomedi-cine and research. The PREP ‘alumni’ who entered PhD or MD/PhD training, here at Mount Sinai and at other excellent programs, report that their PREP experience has helped them tremendously as they enter doctoral work and pro-gress through their core curricula, choice of mentor/major and initiate their projects. We expect to see Mount Sinai PREP alumni continue to excel and to go on to careers as research scientists and physician-scientists in settings in which they contribute impor-tantly to biomedicine.
