In addition, the Consortium will investigate better ways to educate affected families and physicians about food allergy. The projects are funded by the National Institutes of Health. Please see the news release from the NIH for more information about the Food Allergy Research Consortium. Current Progress as of July 6, 2005The first steps for the projects are preparatory. Research protocols and laboratory methodologies are under preparation and research personnel will be trained. At this time, no human subjects are being recruited. When final entry criteria are established, this Web site will indicate further information for potential participants. Recruitment of participants in the "Observational" study is expected to commence in late 2005. Recruitment of participants for the interventional (treatment) study is anticipated to begin in late 2006. |
