Abstract--Algorithm
is designed to identify the skin cells inside the skin surface layer excluding
the loose cells.
(1) Staining method: Immunohistochemistry
(2) Metric size of image: 180um x 130um
(3) Cell type: Keratinocyte
(4) Positive staining cell numbers:
(a) PD (Pyrimidine Dimer) staining: untreated---none;
upon UVB exposure---induced;
UVB exposure + lycopene treatment---downregulated(assumed)
(b) PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen)staining: untreated---exist;
upon UVB
exposure---downregulated;
UVB exposure + lycopene treatment---restored(assumed)
Results: Sampled images are given bellow in pairs, one original and the other showing the image with the identified skin layer cells marked with bright crosses.
