Web DevelopmentFrequently Asked QuestionsI heard about a new Website design for the Medical Center. What's going on?The initiative to create a new public Website for the Medical Center began in October 2005. This effort is to integrate both the Hospital and School Websites into one, and the new site will serve all of Mount Sinai's constituents, including patients, students, physicians, researchers, and the community. The new public Medical Center Website, www.mountsinai.org, launched in January 2008. The School's homepage can still be found at www.mssm.edu. How do I update Web pages on www.mssm.edu? Who do I send them to?Refer to the section Create and Edit Sites . The Overview page summarizes the updates that the Web Office can do for you, and how we prefer to receive your requests. What is the Web Development Office's role? The Web Development Office is charged with building and maintaining the HTML pages of www.mssm.edu and ensuring that the site design and content specifications are met. Where appropriate, we also build pages that are dynamically driven by Web-based applications, such as surveys, questionnaires, and admissions processes for the School. What can the Web Development Office do for me?The Web Development Office will support your Web development activities in many ways. The Web Office comprises individuals with diverse Web development skills who can assist you with a variety of tasks, from consulting with you about site style to developing content and images to building and maintaining your Website. We also provide hosting for select sites that fall outside the style guidelines of www.mssm.edu, such as The Mount Sinai Children's Center Foundation and East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership. How much does this cost? The members of the Web Development Office are School of Medicine staff dedicated to the Website; there is no charge-back for services we provide. |
