Introduction

About the Institutional Website Project

The new public Medical Center Website is now available, www.mountsinai.org. This new Website combines both the Hospital and School public Websites. The Web Office and the Web Marketing Team are responsible for updates to the content and the continuing migration efforts.

All questions and updates concerning the new site should be directed via e-mail to webfeedback@mssm.edu, which is monitored by the Web Marketing Team.

Office Goals and Objectives

The Web Development Office was established to build and maintain the Websites of Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Our goals are to:

• Ensure that the site design and content specifications are met
• Refresh old and develop new sites to reflect the composition and activities of this dynamic institution
• Develop content and present it optimally for a diverse pool of users
• Liaise with departmental contacts/content owners to guarantee currency of posted information
• Stay abreast of campus Web initiatives to ensure accuracy and depth of www.mssm.edu content
• Automate and improve server processes, including site indexing and searching and statistics reporting
• Work constantly to improve and amend navigation, design, and content organization of the site
• Develop Web-based applications for dynamic Web pages, where applicable, allowing department contacts/content owners to update and edit their information
• Educate and expand the skills and knowledge base of office staff and extraoffice developers
