PubMed Health Services Research Queries - Now with Full Text Links

Are you looking for studies on the costs and quality of healthcare systems or patient care programs? Do you need qualitative research on patient or provider satisfaction with health services? PubMed Health Services Research Queries (HSR Queries), a service of the National Information Center on Health Services Research and Health Care Technology (NICHSR) uses built in filters to retrieve studies on whether access to services was appropriate, the process of care, the outcomes of clinical pathways, the costs of care, and how people experience care.

Levy Library has worked with NICHSR to create a unique link that allows Mount Sinai users to search the HSR Queries site directly and get all of the Library's full-text journal articles that are available via PubMed.

  • Mount Sinai's unique HSR Queries link is available via the Library's Databases page under the category Public Health and Health Administration. You may want to bookmark this link if you use HSR Queries often.
  • You can also access HSR Queries and our links by going to the Databases page, selecting MEDLINE/PubMed, then clicking on the link on the PubMed sidebar to Special Queries, and then on the link to Health Systems Research (HSR) Queries.
Tech Tip: Easily Convert a List of Citations Into EndNote or RefWorks

Do you have a long list of citations or a bibliography from a paper? Do you wish there was an easy way to put those references into EndNote or RefWorks? Now there is! Use the Citation Finder feature from HubMed, an alternative interface to PubMed. Simply copy and paste the text from a bibliography into Citation Finder. HubMed will quickly find your citations (if they are in MEDLINE), and then allow you to easily export them to your EndNote Library or RefWorks account.

Levy Library has a site license for RefWorks, a Web-based reference management service. EndNote, a desktop reference management application, is available at a substantial discount off the retail price.

MATLAB Now Available Through Media Resource Center

In addition to EndNote X1, SPSS, SAS, Adobe PhotoShop/Creative Suite, and MS Office, the MRC Help Desk is now distributing MATLAB, a "high-level technical computing language and interactive environment for algorithm development, data visualization, data analysis, and numeric computation". A variety of specialized toolboxes are also available.

To purchase any of this software at Mount Sinai site license rates, please fill out the form available here and return it to Medical School Computing. For more information please contact the MRC Help Desk at med-school-computing@mssm.edu or (212) 241-7204.
