Levy Library Renovation in Progress

The Levy Library has embarked on an exciting physical space renovation. Months of planning and fruitful discussions with faculty and students have shaped the plans that will make the library a more welcoming and attractive place for work and study.

The re-designed library will include improved areas for quiet and group study, two state-of-the-art computer classrooms, a faculty collaboration space for conferences, an increased number of computer workstations, a centralized service desk that integrates circulation, reference and computing help, and an expanded Archives Department.

The construction phase of the project will begin on November 3rd and will finish over the next few months. The first stage, affecting only the 11th floor, will include construction of the computer classrooms, the removal of bookstacks on the north side, and the re-painting of all remaining bookstacks. As construction progresses, regular updates and photos will be posted on the library's blog.

The library will continue to be open during normal hours throughout the renovation. There will be brief times during demolition that areas of the library will not be available for use. Thank you in advance for your patience as we build a better library to serve you! Please let us know if you have any questions or comments by emailing us at Levy.Library@mssm.edu.
