The Gustave L. and Janet W. Levy Library

Connect to Full-text from PubMed

PubMed (the MEDLINE database) contains citations, not full-text articles. However, Mount Sinai users can connect from PubMed directly to full-text articles in the Levy Library's collection.

Access PubMed :

To take advantage of full-text links, you must connect to PubMed through the Levy Library. Follow the link to PubMed on the Levy Library homepage, or follow this link to PubMed. If you are off campus, you can read about off campus access.

View Full-text Links in PubMed:

Search PubMed as usual (help with searching).

To see Mount Sinai’s full-text buttons, click on Display Settings to display your results in Abstract format. You will then see one or more of our full-text buttons with your results.

Clicking the blue MSSM LinkOut button connects directly to full-text articles. It does not appear on every PubMed record.

The yellow FIND IT button does appear on every PubMed record. Clicking it will open a new window.

Look on the new page for a full-text article link.

On the same page, you can also search for print journal holdings, or submit an Interlibrary loan request for the article.

More information about the yellow FIND IT button.

Note about publishers' buttons:

Please Note: If you click a publisher's button (e.g. Elsevier, Wiley, etc.) in PubMed, you may not receive full-text access. It is best to use Mount Sinai's icons to access the full range of dates and providers licensed for you.
