following USMLE and Board preparation resources.
Question Banks and Quizzes: The following are available from the Databases page, under the category USMLE and Board Preparation:
- AccessSurgery: Contains Surgery Board Review and test materials from Schwartz's Principles of Surgery: Self-Assessment and Board Review and from Surgery Review Illustrated. Free registration is required to take quizzes.
- EXAM
MASTER Online: EXAM MASTER Online is a test preparation and
medical subject review for USMLE Step 1 (9000+ questions), USMLE Step
2 (5000+ questions), and USMLE Step 3 (3000+ questions), among others.
Certification Review aids cover Family Practice, General Pediatrics, General
Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry, Pathology
and SPEX. Students can create self-study exams in a variety of subjects.
First time registration is required before using EXAM MASTER: Please complete
the form using a Mount Sinai email address. A personal EXAM MASTER password
is immediately emailed to you.
- USMLEasy
Lite and Lange Self-Assessment Tool: (through Access Medicine):
Contains thousands of USMLE questions, answers and explanations for Step
1, Step 2, and Step 3. Free registration is required. (Please note that USMLEasy Lite is not as extensive as USMLEasy, which is currently available to individual subscribers only.)
- WikiTestPrep: is a free USMLE question bank for Step 1 and Step 2, designed by students
here at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Online Review Books and Other Library Resources:
- Lange
Basic Science Books Online: The Lange Basic Science Educational
Library is available in full-text online and is fully searchable. Includes Review of Medical Physiology, Medical Microbiology, Basic Histology, and more.
- Review
E-Books: From the E-Books page, click the USMLE and Board
Preparation subject category to view a selected list of online
review books from the Library's E-Books collections. (Search ebrary for even more USMLE review e-books.)
- ebrary: is a collection of hundreds of online books including some USMLE
review materials such as: First Aid for the USMLE (2006 and 2007
editions) and Lange Outline Review for Step 1 and Step 2 (2006).

notes online.
- NetAnatomy:
is an interactive human anatomy resource that includes quizzes to review
anatomy. Please note that the quizzes were not specifically
designed for the USMLE.
Review Books in the Library:
The Library has many USMLE review books on reserve (check out for 3 hours)
and also in the bookstacks (check out for 2 weeks). Many are found in
the W 18.2 section of the bookstacks. Search
the catalog for more information. An online hold may be placed if a book is currently checked out.
