The Gustave L. and Janet W. Levy Library

Chat with a Librarian Using AOL's Instant Messenger

Get quick answers to your library questions (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm*).
Our AIM screen name is: mssmref

Never used IM before? Get Started: To send instant messages, you must first download and install AOL's Instant Messenger (AIM) application. Or, create a screen name and chat directly from the web with AIM Express.

To IM a Librarian: Open a new message, type our screen name (mssmref) in the To field and type your question. A Levy librarian will write back as soon as possible.

Please Note: IM works best for answering brief questions. If you need in-depth assistance, consider calling us at 241-7793, emailing us, or visiting the reference desk.

Questions that are asked in-person in the library will take precedence over instant messages. A librarian will answer your IM as soon as possible.

Our IM service is for faculty, staff, and students of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Mount Sinai Hospital. Users may be asked to provide evidence of their affiliation.

*Instant Messaging service hours are subject to change.
