History of Medicine Images: Provides access to over 60,000 images from the National Library of Medicine's History of Medicine collection.  The images include portraits, pictures of institutions, caricatures, genre scenes, and graphic art in a variety of media, illustrating the social and historical aspects of medicine from the Middle Ages to the present.
Copyright: Many images are in the public domain and are thus free of any copyright restrictions. Each image is accompanied by the usage restrictions required by the owner. If the image is copyright protected, you will have to contact the owner to obtain permission to use the image.

Public Health Image Library (PHIL): An electronic gateway to the CDC's extensive collection of photographs, illustrations, and multimedia files. Examples of subjects covered include infectious diseases and organisms (including high-resolution electron micrographs), natural disasters and bioterrorism.

Wellcome Images: Themes range from medical and social history to contemporary healthcare and biomedical science. The Biomedical Collection holds over 40,000 high-quality images from the clinical and biomedical sciences.
Copyright: Images on this site are freely available for download for personal, academic teaching or study use, under one of two Creative Commons licenses. If you wish to publish or broadcast an image in any form, a fee will be negotiated according to usage.
