Steering Committee
The steering committee plays a central role in running the fellowship program through its involvement in:
Admissions
The steering committee decides which applications to accept for interviews as well as which candidates to proffer admission.
Mentoring
Members of the committee serve as initial mentors for new Fellows and guide them towards the definitive mentors who will supervise their career development.
Curriculum Evolution and Management
Long-term planning, curricular development, implementation, monitoring and quality control of the fellowship program are all part of this aspect of the Steering Committee’s functions.
ACGME
Members of the committee analyze the fellowship program to ensure its compliance with ABIM and ACGME guidelines for training programs.
Disciplinary Hearings
The Steering Committee is responsible for the arrangement and follow thru of disciplinary hearings in the unlikely event disciplinary or remedial actions are required as part of Fellows’ career guidance.
