National Institutes of Health Training Grants

The National Institutes of Health has awarded the Department several training awards to support our mission of preparing well trained scientists in cutting edge health related research and to ensure that diverse and exceptionally trained medical professionals are available to assume leadership roles in the Nation's biomedical research arena.

The Department’s training grants are in the following areas of biomedical and clinical research:

• Cardiology - Molecular and Cellular Cardiology
• Endocrinology - Cellular and Molecular Endocrinology
• Infectious Diseases - Pathogenesis of Viral Diseases
• Liver Diseases and Gastroenterology
• Nephrology - Molecular Basis of Renal Disease

Clinical Research Training Program

In addition, Dr. Janice Gabrilove is the Principal Investigator of an NIH grant entitled Clinical Research Training Program to support a curriculum in clinical investigation (K-30) for residents, fellows, and junior faculty members.
