ABSTRACT
We report on two Japanese breath-hold divers who developed neurological disturbances following more than 3 hours of consecutive dives to 15 - 25 meters of seawater. Their magnetic resonance images of the brain showed multiple cerebral infarcts which were consistent with their neurological symptoms. The cerebral lesions seem to have been caused by repetitive breath-hold dives for extended periods of time. Immediate recompression is required when neurological symptoms develop after such dives.
