Each gene contains DNA, which is the genetic material in human cells that determine such things as hair color, eye color, and other more complex traits. Finding the genes responsible for these disorders will enable researchers to better define the clinical presentation, to understand the pathological processes involved, to improve medical treatment, and, ultimately, to find a cure. In all genetic studies, strict confidentiality will be maintained to protect participant's privacy.
