Pediatric Ophthalmologists have fellowship training beyond the postgraduate study necessary for American Board of Ophthalmology certification. Strabismus is the area of ophthalmology concerned with eye muscle problems occurring in both children and adults. Because of their special knowledge and surgical abilities in this subject area, most pediatric ophthalmologists treat strabismus patients of any age.
These conditions often involve ongoing management of visual development. The advice and assistance of specialists in related fields is obtained when necessary. We offer these services to children from newborn to age 18 years, and beyond this age for problems that are still active. Patients of any age will be accepted for eye muscle disorders requiring surgery. Edward Raab, M.D. Tel: (212) 369-0988 For an appointment to see Dr. Raab, please call (212) 369-0988.
