Mount Sinai Research and Funding

Research projects can be carried out during the summer between years 1 and 2, during the INSPIRE program in year 4, or as an elective in years 3 and 4. Students also may elect to do a Scholarly Year in order to obtain a more intensive research experience, either at MSSM or at another site. School funding is available to support summer research and students are informed about external fellowship programs that provide stipends for summer research or a Scholarly Year.

First year students interested in doing a summer project at MSSM are encouraged to select a mentor early in the spring semester of the first year. This will allow sufficient time to develop a project and submit an application for funding.
