Dr. Adler completed his post doctoral training in Primary Care Internal Medicine in 1982 at Mount Sinai's affiliate, the City Hospital Center at Elmhurst. He has been on the full time faculty of The Mount Sinai Medical Center since completing his residency training program, first at Elmhurst Hospital in the Department of Ambulatory Care and since 1986, in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan. Dr. Adler is the co-director of the Out-Patient Curriculum for Mount Sinai's Internal Medicine Residency Training Program. In the formal curriculum, his teaches about screening patients for alcohol use, the doctor-patient relationship, GERD, resistant hypertension and other primary care topics. He precepts internal medicine residents as they learn to care for patients in the out-patient setting.
